Breastfeeding support for the whole family, with preparation in pregnancy, help with the first latch after the birth, and ongoing support during the postpartum months.
Please note: I do not have to be your doula to help you with your breastfeeding concerns! You can call me anytime you run into difficulties, as a one time visit, or until we sort things out!
Some of the learning and preparation can take place during pregnancy, and then the rest begins within the first hour or so after the baby is born. Then, the learning continues through each day, and each phase the growing baby goes through. It is important to note that the father/partner is also very involved in the learning and actual breastfeeding!As a Lactation Counsellor, I can help you prepare in pregnancy, and work with you once the baby is born, or meet you after the baby is born to work on any issues that arise. Breastfeeding should not hurt, and if it does, there needs to be adjustments made! Be sure to have someone on hand to help with those adjustments!
